Time to Rest and Relax between Activities

The Dalmahoy Hotel in Edinburgh offers a luxurious and relaxing escape, set within 1,000 acres of stunning parkland just outside the city.
This elegant country estate combines historic charm with modern comfort, featuring spacious rooms, fine dining, a world-class golf course, and a tranquil spa.

Guests can enjoy breathtaking views, peaceful surroundings, and easy access to both Edinburgh’s vibrant city centre and the beauty of the Scottish countryside. Ideal for a relaxing getaway or a refined base for exploring Scotland.
Your Accomodation
Dalmahoy Hotel & Country Club, located just outside Edinburgh, is steeped in Scottish history. Originally built in 1725 for George Dalrymple, the youngest son of the Earl of Stair, the house was designed by renowned architect William Adam. In 1760, it was acquired by the Douglas family, and the estate remains under the ownership of their descendants, including the current 22nd Earl of Morton.
The estate has connections to Mary, Queen of Scots, who is said to have visited Dalmahoy. Notably, members of the Douglas family played a role in her escape from Loch Leven Castle in 1568. The keys from that daring escape were recovered in the 19th century and are now held on the Dalmahoy estate.
In the 20th century, Dalmahoy transitioned into hospitality, opening as a country club in 1976 with just 10 bedrooms. It has since evolved into a luxurious hotel featuring 215 rooms and suites, two restaurants, a leisure club with an indoor pool, and two 18-hole golf courses, all set within 1,000 acres of picturesque parkland.
Today, Dalmahoy seamlessly blends its rich historical heritage with modern amenities, offering guests a unique and memorable experience.

A trip to famous Stirling Castle

Perched dramatically atop a volcanic crag, Stirling Castle is one of Scotland’s most majestic and historically significant landmarks—a true gateway to the nation’s turbulent past. Once the favored residence of Scottish kings and queens, including Mary, Queen of Scots, the castle has witnessed coronations, battles, and royal intrigue.
Its beautifully restored Great Hall and opulent Royal Palace bring the Renaissance period vividly to life, while the panoramic views over the surrounding countryside, including the Wallace Monument and Bannockburn battlefield, add to its powerful sense of place.
What sets Stirling Castle apart from other castles is its unique blend of military might and regal grandeur. While many Scottish castles are known primarily as fortresses or ruins, Stirling stands as a vivid living monument to royal ambition, artistic achievement, and political power.
Overlooking key battlefields like Bannockburn and offering sweeping views across the Highlands and Lowlands, Stirling was once considered the key to the kingdom—and it still holds that title for visitors today. It’s not just a castle; it’s the beating heart of Scottish history.
A visit to Stirling Castle is not just a journey into Scotland’s history—it’s a chance to walk in the footsteps of legends.
